None of these texts are unpublished, or difficult to find, or unclear. H. P. Lovecraft was a racist. But his fame and influence are unaffected by his bigotry. This suggests that when someone is accused of bigotry this accusation may be an attack on that person, not on their ideas or behavior. Because others are given a free ride while being just as racist. Some are chosen to be branded a racist and are never forgiven. Others are forgiven. Amnesty doesn’t seem to be based on the actual ideas or behavior of the accused.

He rediscovered the Descartes’ theorem in 1936 and published it as a poem. The kissing circles in this problem are sometimes known as Soddy circles. The lunar crater Soddy is named after him. [Eh, just another forgotten awesome guy. Throw him in the pile.]

Unlike most strongmen, Joe was not large — Standing at 5’5″ and weighing in at 140 pounds, Joe Greenstein dubbed himself “The Mighty Atom” and eventually became one of the 20th century’s most well-known strongmen.

When I was 13 years old, my father took me and my brother to the University of Tennessee once a week to watch The Prisoner. Being 1980, the series was being shown as 16mm films projected in a cafeteria. It registered in my young mind as a documentary and prepared me for some of who I would be and what I would do for the rest of my life. It definitely helped me understand what school (and later work) was all about. Ten years later I had two VCRs and copied the series on VHS tapes the local library. I showed it to many friends in private and at public showings. I’m sure I watched the whole thing through 20 times or more. When digital copies became available I swapped out my VHS copies, which had been worn down over the previous two decades. I’m still showing The Prisoner to people. The show had a life-long and positive effect on my life. Thanks, dad. And thank you to Patrick McGoohan, who died today.
